1. Introduction

Yewki ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Yewki mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). Yewki is a snowboarding and skiing session tracker that records runs, GPS routes, stats (distance, vertical drop, run count, speed), and workout history. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

a) Account Information

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address via Google OAuth. We use this to create and manage your Yewki account. We do not receive or store your Google password.

b) Health & Fitness Data (Apple HealthKit)

With your explicit permission, Yewki reads and writes health and fitness data through Apple HealthKit, including:

• Workout sessions (downhill snow sports)
• Distance travelled during sessions
• Vertical drop and elevation data
• Speed and run count metrics

HealthKit data is only accessed when you grant permission through the iOS Health permissions prompt. You can revoke this access at any time in your device's Settings > Health > Data Access.

c) Location Data

With your permission, Yewki uses CoreLocation to collect GPS data while you are actively tracking a session. This is used to record your route on the mountain, calculate distance, speed, and vertical drop. Location data is only collected during an active tracking session — we do not track your location in the background when you're not recording a run.

d) App Usage Data

We collect basic usage data such as sessions logged, features used, and app activity to help us understand how the app is being used and where we can improve. We do not use any third-party analytics SDKs.

e) Waitlist Information

If you signed up through our website, we collected your email address for our beta waitlist.

3. Apple HealthKit Data

This section specifically addresses how we handle data accessed through Apple HealthKit, as required by Apple's App Store guidelines:

• We do not use HealthKit data for advertising or marketing purposes.
• We do not sell HealthKit data to third parties, data brokers, or information resellers.
• We do not share HealthKit data with third parties for their own purposes.
• HealthKit data is used solely to provide and improve the core functionality of Yewki — tracking your ski and snowboard sessions and displaying your personal stats.
• HealthKit data is stored securely and is not combined with data from advertising or marketing services.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Record and display your ski/snowboard sessions, routes, and statistics.
• Sync workout data with Apple Health so your sessions appear in your health history.
• Enable social features such as friend comparisons and leaderboards.
• Authenticate your account via Google Sign-In.
• Send you updates about the Service, including beta access and new features.
• Respond to your enquiries and support requests.
• Improve the app based on aggregated, anonymised usage data.

5. Third-Party Services

Yewki uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase — backend database and authentication. Your account data, session data, and route data are stored on Supabase's servers. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
• Google Sign-In — used only for account authentication (OAuth). We receive your name and email; no other Google data is accessed.

We do not use any advertising networks, ad tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs.

6. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

• With your consent: Activity data shared with friends or publicly via leaderboards, as configured by you in the app.
• Service providers: Supabase and Google, as described above, solely to operate the Service.
• Legal requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and secure authentication via OAuth. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.

You can delete your account at any time from within the app under Settings > Account > Delete Account. When you delete your account:

• Your account information, session history, route data, and all associated personal data will be permanently deleted from our servers.
• Data already written to Apple HealthKit will remain in HealthKit (you can remove it separately through the Health app).
• This action is irreversible.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal information.
• Withdraw consent for data processing.
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.

10. Children’s Privacy

Yewki is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we may also notify you through the app.
